Last evening, David's mom stayed up late baking some yummy things for the Easter celebration this weekend! She made a special Easter bread, called "Pastja" (in low German). As long as she can remember, her mom would make this sweet bread for Easter, and she has carried on the tradition. Last Easter, David just thought we needed to have some of this bread, since he grew up having it each Easter. Well, since I had no idea how to make it, we bought some at a local bakery. (This is a very traditional bread eaten at Easter time where we work in Asia. I just forget what they call it.) So last evening, I watched closely as David's mom made it. Hopefully I'll be able to make it for David next Easter time. Perhaps we will carry on the tradition in our family too!
