At the North Sea

Monday afternoon, we spent a couple of hours at the North Sea with David's sister and her family. (They live fairly close to the sea.) It was great being in the sunshine and sitting on the sand! Yet, since it was very windy and cool, we didn't stay too long. The kids really enjoyed playing in the sand while us "big people" fellowshipped.

Uncle Waldi pulls the kids in a wagon to the beach.

Here is a picture of the North Sea. What you see that looks like water, is actually just mud. The North Sea goes in six hour cycles. For six hours the water comes in up until the beach line, and then the next six hours, the water goes back out. When the water is out, people like to walk in the mud, which is supposed to be very healthy for you. We were there during the six hours that the water was out... but did not walk in the mud. (Although I'm sure the kids would have loved that!!!)
