Home again :)

Yes, Micah and I are home! :) I really want to thank all of you who were thinking about us these past couple of days. It was absolutely incredible how at peace David and I both were. I kept telling David that I was just so surprised at how peaceful I felt! So, thank-you so much (and praise him)!

Overall, our hospital stay went SO well in comparison to when Aria was put in her cast. Perhaps the biggest blessing was that Micah and I had our own room! (Aria and I had to share a room with two elderly ladies, and I felt so bad every time Aria cried.)
On Tuesday, all the paperwork was completed quickly. David then returned to take care of the girls, and, after I got permission from the doctor, Micah and I went for a walk in the city. I decided that I needed to buy him some shirts, as we mostly just had sleepers for him, and he wouldn't be able to wear them with his cast. I was successful, and returned to the hospital with 3 new shirts and a cute pair of shoes. I was a little sad as I walked through the store and saw the cute baby boy pants. Pants which my little boy won't be able to wear for 6 weeks. But, then I'd remind myself that this is for his best, and that I'll be able to dress him in cute boy pants soon enough! :)

Early Wednesday morning, the nurse came and got Micah and I and took us to the operating room. Thankfully, David arrived just in time for us both to give him a kiss before they took him behind the doors. After waiting about an hour and a half, I was allowed to see Micah. He was still waking up from the anesthesia and he had his new 'pants' on! I was glad that they allowed me to hold him right away, yet he wasn't ready to eat for several more hours until after the anesthesia wore off. But, the whole process went very smoothly, and little Micah handled the anesthesia well, of which we are so thankful!

Micah amazes me, he really does. He seems to have already adjusted to having the cast on, and doesn't cry any more than he did before. Oh, and this whole process hasn't hindered his appetite in any way! He still wants to eat every 2 hours! By the way, Micah is a big baby boy! All the nurses that saw him were amazed that he is only 5 weeks old. They all thought he was much older! Before they put the cast on him, he weighed 5,250 grams/11.5 pounds... now with the cast, he weighs much more! I told David that I'm going to get quite the muscular arms during these 6 weeks! :)

In the room next to ours, there was a mother with her 10 week old baby girl. How exciting it was that the girl just had her cast removed! This morning before they left, the mom asked if she could talk with me. We had a wonderful time talking about our experiences with our 'cast babies'. :) She gave me some good pointers on how to better take care of the cast. But not only that, it was just so encouraging for me to talk with someone else who went through the same thing. I often think that I am the only one whose child must be in a cast, and it was just nice to know that I'm not alone. :)

I am just so thankful to Him. These last couple of days he has not only given me such a peace, but also, such a joy! I am just so thankful for my little family... for David, Aria, Nina, and Micah. And I couldn't be more proud of them! I too am just so thankful that Micah can wear the cast which will help his hips to heal. I'm so thankful for my baby boy, and think he's the greatest! :) (I'll try to post some pictures of his cast within the next couple of days.)

While Micah and I were at the hospital, David and the girls had some great father-daughter time! They went for walks, played on playgrounds, ate at McDonalds, and went shopping! I thought it was pretty brave of David to take two little girls shopping, but he did, and they had a blast! David bought them each a hat, which they were totally thrilled about. They even wanted to sleep with them (thus the picture of them with their new hats in their PJs)! These two girls are so blessed to have such a wonderful papa!
