Early Friday morning, we loaded the kids into the car and made a family trip to the doctors. The girls were actually quite excited to go to the doctors, which made us feel bad, as we knew what was awaiting them! All three of our kids had to get a blood test done in order to be tested for AIDs... something we are positive they don't have, yet is required for our application for a 3-year visa for Russia. It was very difficult for David and I to watch (and comfort!) our children while they were getting the test done. If it was something we knew was for their good, it would be different. But to put them through all the needles, just for an application... well, we had to hold back the tears as we wondered what in the world we were doing! But overall, the kids did very well. Balloons and candy helped to distract them... at least a little bit. (Well, Micah didn't really care at all about balloons and candy.) We are very glad this part of testing is over with!
