Another Blessing...

Today, I became a temporary resident of Germany! :D

To enter Germany, one does not need a visa. (Oh, SO nice!) Yet, you can then only legally stay within the country for 90 days. If you want to stay longer, then you need to apply for temporary residency (which is like a 3 year visa... just what we applied for in T-land.)

R-land recently passed a law, that requires everyone to get visas for R-land through their passport country. Well, David and the kids could all get their visas through Germany, yet I would be required to get mine through the States. Yet, just recently we found out that if I had temporary residency in Germany, I'd also be able to get my visa for R-land in Germany. So, that's the main reason why we wanted to get this... then we all can get our visas through Germany. This will mean a lot less hassle and expense for us in the future.

We couldn't believe how 'easy' it was for me to get this! We just had to fill out a short application, show some documents, and there was my temporaray residency visa... glued in my passport! The most difficult thing of the morning, was trying to keep the kids quiet and still as we waited in line, and then talked with the man about my application. But, the kids did very well keeping quiet while looking at their books and eating their smarties, so we took them to a little park afterwards and let them swing on the swings, and go down the slide!
