Our Saturday

Today, David is meeting with a couple of people (some leaders from our home office here in Germany) at the Frankfurt airport. Since Frankfurt is a good 3 hour drive from us, he left early in the morning in order to meet with them before their flight. It is kinda a silly place to have a meeting... at an airport, and such a great distance to drive for a meeting as well. Yet, David really had some important things to discuss with them , concerning the future work in T-land. These men were incredibly busy this past week and didn't have time to meet, so they decided to arrive at the airport a couple hours earlier in order to discuss things with David. This afternoon, these men will be heading to R-land, where a conference is being held. (Yeah, we sure do wish that we would be able to be there as well, but... sigh... we are not able to be.) Therefore, David, along with these men, thought it would be very important to meet and discuss these things before they went to the conference.

While papa is away for the day, the kids and I are staying busy... a fun busy. Since we were in need of some groceries and I thought it would be good for all of us to 'get out for a bit', the kids and I went shopping! We have a store, very similar to Aldi's, in walking distance from our apartment. I put Micah in a front carrier, told the girls it was very important for them to obey mommy, and off we went! The girls helped me carry the food items in the store, and were very patient and obedient... even I was impressed! (Perhaps it was because of those gummy bears I promised them if they were good in the store? Hmmm...) I bought the girls each a little butter roll at the bakery next door, as well as a freshly baked loaf of whole grain bread...yummy... and, while Micah slept, we headed for home. As we began hearing thunder and saw dark clouds rolling in, we walked quickly! It was a good thing we did, because right after we got into our entry way, it started pouring down the rain!

We (I say that word very loosely) then cleaned up the apartment so that it will look all nice and clean when papa comes home late this afternoon.

We enjoyed some grilled cheese sandwiches (made with the fresh loaf of bread we bought at the bakery) and yogurt for lunch.

I put another load of laundry in. Hmmm... I've lost count how many loads of laundry I've done this past week. Now that we know we'll be in one place for the next 2 months (at least we think so) we are really trying to get Nina potty trained, and well, let's just say, the dirty laundry basket is getting fuller a lot quicker now... meaning, she hasn't quite gotten the whole idea of it yet! We've also been working with Aria, in that she'll stay dry through the night. So far, she (Aria) has surprised both David and I and has been doing a wonderful job. If at all possible, it is our goal to have Nina potty trained before returning to R-land... sounds like that would be wonderful! I told David this past week, that sometimes all I feel like I do all day is deal with 'human waste'.... potty training Nina, changing Micah's diapers, helping Aria when needed... yuck. Oh well, it won't always be like this. :D

Tonight we are getting together with some friends. They have 3 boys, so I'm sure Aria and Nina will have plenty of action and fun!

This past week has been quite chilly, dreary, and rainy. We sure do miss the sunshine!

The kids have been taking their afternoon naps, but will probably soon be up. I better get going! Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!
