A special weekend with family

This weekend was spent with David's family. It was very special, as everyone was able to be together. (That doesn't happen too often in a big family!) Lots of memories were made, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed playing with their cousins. We are so thankful we could have this special time together with family before we go back to R-land.

Friday evening, we celebrated David's brother, Peter, and sister Lydia's birthdays. The children were all excited about the tent that their Opa had put up in the backyard. The plan was, that Opa and the six older grandchildren would sleep outside together in the tent. Well, only one grandchild ended up sleeping in it the whole night. (Way to go, Theo!) But, they all sure enjoyed playing in it!

On Saturday, we all went to the local "Safari Park". It is a small amusement park with lots of fun animals, such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, etc. The kids just loved it!

We had such lovely, hot weather that day! The perfect kind of weather for ice cream!

This day was also special, as cousin Beni turned '4' years old! Herzlichen Gluckwünsch zum Geburtstag, Beni! Wir lieben dich! :D

On Sunday, we had a nice lunch together, and enjoyed the beautiful weather outdoors.
