The last pumpkin

Recently, we cut-up our second (and last) pumpkin. The girls were a big help getting all the seeds out! (Oh, and just a question. Do you eat roasted pumpkin seeds whole, just as they are, or do you take the shell off and just eat what's inside? I eat them whole, but David insists that you are not to eat the shell, just what's inside. What do you think?) I baked a couple of apples, and now Micah is enjoying a mixture of apples and pumpkin puree. Yummy.

David had his first German class at the university yesterday. This was the beginners class, and so he found himself speaking more Russian than German, but he enjoyed it.
This morning, I was trying to teach the girls which hand is left, and which one is right. I told them that their right hand is the one which they eat with (as they are both right-handed). Aria then asked, "mommy, is our left hand for drinking juice with?"
This evening, Nina jumped on our bed, fell off, and hit her head. After she was done crying, we could hear Aria scolding her in their room saying, "Nina, you know you aren't supposed to jump on mama and papa's bed. That's a no-no. You disobeyed. Remember, "children obey your parents in the L, for this is right!" Hmmm... too bad Aria doesn't always remember that herself!

good post.
Christy- maybe you should teach the beginner German class- it would be like our English classes...very good for learning Russian:)
You eat the whole shell for pumpkin seeds- at least in Canada. I didn't really know there was much inside the shell- is there? We always toasted them in lots of salt in the oven...yummy. When you buy pumkin seeds at the store they have the shell on them- I've never seen them without. They are kinda tough and maybe a choking hazard though so I can see why David would think that. So glad you guys found some ORANGE pumpkins!
We are starting to feel the time pass very quickly.... better get to the doctor/dentists etc. We keep putting it off:)
thinking about you lots.

Hi Christy!
My roommates and I just carved a pumpkin and they had never had toasted pumpkin seeds either! I've always eaten them with the shell on but it does leave a tough piece behind that you really can't chew. I just gets soft and you swallow it. I like to do them in the oven with some salt and garlic powder! I continue to love reading your posts happy pumpkin eating!

Erin, I told David that you said they sell pumpkin seeds with the shell on, and he reminded me of all the sunflower seeds they sell here. :) Good idea about teaching German (in order to learn Russian), but I think they want someone with good German grammar. :) Anytime you want David to ask the ovir about your residencies, he's willing to go... just let us know!

Adriene, it was nice hearing from you! Hope your school year is going well. Glad you enjoyed some pumpkin too!

And Rachel, thanks for saying "hi"! How are you doing?!?!? David and I have often thought about you. Blessings to you, friend!
