Some people have been wondering if Micah is still wearing his brace. Good question, as lately, Micah is not wearing his brace in the pictures posted. But yes, he is still wearing his brace, about 85% of the time. When he wakes up in the morning, we usually take it off for about an hour. This gives us some good cuddle time with him and a chance for him to stretch his legs and move around a bit. We then put the brace back on until late afternoon/evening, when we take it back off for a couple of hours of good play time. It then goes back on at bed time.
This Friday marks the end of the 3 month period in which the doctor told us that Micah definitely needs to be wearing the brace. As we are not able to check the progress of his hips here, the doctor encouraged us to leave it on for a few months longer, just to be on the safe side. Yet, I'm not sure if we'll do that or not. David and I are getting pretty tired of it, and personally, we are thinking that his hips are fine. Also, his brace is getting quite worn out! Yet, perhaps we'll still have him wear it at nights and throughout the day for a while yet... not too sure. Either way, we are so thankful that Micah is nearing the end of his hip treatment!
