First of all, I just want to say a BIG congratulations to my sister and her family! Early Wednesday morning, our new little niece, Zoe Grace, arrived! Oh, how I wish that I could be there to hold precious little Zoe and give her lots of cuddles and kisses! We haven't seen any pictures yet, but we are told that she is absolutely beautiful! :D Welcome to the world, Zoe, and to our family! Your auntie, uncle, and cousins in T-land love you!!!
Secondly, thank-you so much for keeping our friend Willi (who was recently in a very serious car accident) in your thoughts. The last we heard, he is improving and doing much better! We are so, so, SO thankful!!!
Yesterday evening, David and I did something different. We went to a concert at the city's Philharmonia. One of the students in David's English class told us about it, so we thought that we'd go and get a little taste of this part of Tuvan culture. Well, it wasn't really what we were expecting. The music was mostly jazz (which neither David or I are totally thrilled about), but yet, it was nice. We thought that one of the students were going to be playing during the concert, but we didn't see him. Yet we left before the concert was over, as we were missing our kiddos and it was getting late. (Thanks David and Erin for watching them for us!) Even though it wasn't exactly the culture experience we were hoping for, we are glad that we were able to go. It is very obvious that Tuvans love music, and enjoy various kinds and styles. (Which I think is great!)

Beginning next week, I am planning on meeting twice a week with a young lady, Shoraana. During our time together, we will be trying to speak only Tuvan while doing different activities. I feel a need to be able to hear and practice the language more, so have asked her to help me in this way. The days I do not meet with her, I will continue meeting with my language helper, Snyezhana. Snyezhana helps me tackle the grammar and language structure, as well as helps me to understand different aspects of the culture and meanings to words. I know that this will make my life (rather our lives) a bit busier, but I really think that I need this practice. We'll see how it works out next week...
