This afternoon, Nina came running into the kitchen with her finger up her nose and in a panicky voice kept saying, "I can't get it out! I can't get it out!" At first, we had no idea what she was talking about or what the problem was. Yet, after a quick look into her nose, we realized that she had a little lego stuck up there! (Why in the world she would put a lego in her nose, I have absolutely no idea. But, I guess kids do things without thinking sometimes!) Well, we tried to hold her hands down, as she just kept pushing it further in trying to get it out. I quickly grabbed our tweezers, told Nina to hold really still, and thankfully, was able to pull it out. But wow, it was quite a big piece and pretty far up in her nose! Whew! David was invisioning us having to take her to the hospital to get it removed. Thankfully, we were able to get it out, and everything was fine again. Silly girl. :)
Would you mind keeping our little Nina in your thoughts? (No, her nose is fine now, but you can remember her nose too if you want. :D) Since the winter months, Nina has been having some kind-of dry skin rash right below her bottom lip. After talking to the different ladies at the pharmacy, David brought home several different creams for her to try. They seemed to be helping. But just recently, the rash seems to be getting worse and the creams don't seem to be helping. We think we may need to take her to a doctor to get it looked at. I try to keep a skin cream on it while she's sleeping and at different times throughout the day. It doesn't seem to be painful for her, although it does bother her. We'd appreciate your thoughts for this. Thanks!

Christy, i was reading your comment about ninas dry patch at her lip and it makes me think of a problem i have and only recently became aware of such a thing. I have alot of skin issues and found out that there is an ingredient called sodium laurel (laureth it is sometimes referred to) sulfate or SLS that is in everything (it seems). It is a lathering agent added to toothpaste, shampoo, hand soap etc. I found out that i started with a dry patch at my lip when the toothpast started affecting me. I started using organic toothpaste. You just really have to check out ingredients on products. It really makes a difference if this is the case for Nina. So many ingredients containing anything sulfate have become a problem for me and things that I once was fine using have become a problem. Ugh, allergies. Just a suggestion to try something different as toothpaste.

Hi Gina! Thanks so much for your suggestion! We've lately been thinking that she must be allergic to something, but have no idea what! It makes sense about the toothpaste. We will definitely try your suggestion, and although I don't know if we can get organic toothpaste here, we'll try our best to find something different for her. Thanks so much for the suggestion, and sorry about your skin issues, but so glad you found out the problem!
