Some more yurt pictures...

For those of you who are interested, here are a few more pictures from David's time last week at the yurt. (Our co-worker shared these with us... thanks David!)

They had to travel on a 'road' that looked like this for around 70km. Understandably, it took them over four hours to get to the yurt.

Here, David is helping one of the babushkas prepare the sheep intenstines to be braided.

This is one of the Tuvan peoples' favorite things to eat... blood sausage... a Tuvan delicacy! They fill the sheep intenstines and stomach (which is the round thing in the wooden bowl) with the sheep's blood, and then boil them. Here, it is all cooked and being cut into pieces. Guten Appetit!

Wow, I'm pretty sure I would not have been able to keep any of that food down (or eat it in the first place :) Way to go, David! How neat to show such an interest in their culture & the things that are important to them . . .
