Our little monkeys

The other day while eating brocolli, Nina said, "mommy, I can't eat any more of this. It makes me cough and bite my tongue!" (oh really?!?!)

Our little baby's due date is January 2nd. We already have a Christmas baby, will we get a New Year's baby too??? Crazy!

The kids (well, the girls) are super excited about the 'little baby' and think it's great that mommy's belly is getting bigger. We told them early on about the baby, and I have shown them pictures of their developing sibling (well, magazine pictures of other babies, but they get the idea :D). We were waiting to tell our new co-workers in person once they arrived the beginning of July. But, before we could tell them, Aria exclaimed, "mommy has a baby in her belly the size of my hand!" :D Tonight at bedtime, Aria said, "oh mommy, I love our baby soooo much"! And Nina chimed in, "yes, our little baby is soooo cute"! It's fun seeing their excitement over the baby and that they already consider s/he as part of our family. (Not exactly sure what Micah thinks about it all... he doesn't say much about it. :D)

I've gotten all kinds of different responses from neighbors and friends here with whom I've told about our pregnancy. (Here, in a place where 2 kids is considered a BIG family.) Usually, I'd say "I'm pregnant" in Tuvan, and they would just look at me funny. And so, I would then say it in Russian, to be sure they understood me right. They would still look at me funny. After a while they'd say, "oh, yeah, I understand. I'm just shocked!" or things like "Did you want to get pregnant?" or the babushkas will say, "put Misha (Micah) down right now! You should not be carrying him!" My one friend is convinced that we need to hire a nanny to help out! Now that I'm starting to show the pregnancy, I'm getting quite the stares, especially when the kids are with me (which is usually all the time :D). Several weeks ago, a babushka friend looked at me and said in a scolding type of voice, "are you pregnant or what?!" (I was just glad I was/am pregnant. Otherwise, I would have been quite... um... offended!)

Oh Christy, congratulations! I'm sure you will have good little helpers when the baby comes--hope you can have a healthy pregnancy & delivery when the time comes for that? Will you be staying there for the delivery? Anyways, so happy for you guys!
