More Doctor Visits

It seems like our days our filled with doctor visits!

Our little Micah has continued having high fevers, and has developed a really nasty cough. After yet another sleepless night, David took him to the doctor early this morning. After some blood tests, it was determined that Micah has a very bad bacterial infection which causes lots of coughing. (I'm not sure what the name of this illness is in English...but no, it's NOT the swine flu.) It is extremely contagious and can be very dangerous if not treated. So, Micah is now on antibiotics and will be staying at home until the weekend when it will be safe for him to be around others again. The doctor told us that it can take up to 5-6 weeks for one to get over this illness! Poor little guy. No wonder he was so miserable! So far, Aria and Nina seem to be doing o.k. Yet Nina has developed a similar sounding cough to Micah's, so she is also taking some antibiotics. Crazy. We are in Germany only several days, and our kids catch all the flu bugs and germs that are going around... and a lot are going around now! Makes me feel bad for our little kiddos... they have to fight sicknesses in so many different countries! But, I guess their immune systems will be all the stronger for it!

I also had an appointment at the doctors this afternoon. The main reason of this visit was so that the doctor could measure my amniotic fluid level. Last week, it was quite low, causing my doctor to be concerned. But thankfully this week, after resting and drinking lots of fluids, my amniotic fluid level is back up to normal! PTL! After checking the babies some more, the doctor told me that we can only be thankful for how well our twins are doing. I know that that is only a gift from him! I do have lots of Braxton Hicks contractions though. Hopefully these little ones will stay put for a while yet! After I told my doctor what illness Micah has, she did take some blood for a blood test to determine if I also have the same illness. I guess we'll find those results out on Thursday.

Thanks for your thoughts for our babies, and please keep Micah, Aria and Nina in your thoughts as they fight off this nasty sickness. Thank-you!!! :)

I figure out names of illness, animals, plants, etc by looking them up on Wikipedia in the language that I know, then clicking on the language I want to know in the list on the side. Not foolproof, but it works for those things that just aren't in dictionaries. :-)

Thinking of all of you!
