Randomness (is that a word?)

Yesterday was David's Opa's funeral and memorial service. It was a very special time, being together as family and remembering our special Opa. It was also a very difficult time, saying "good-bye" to someone we all loved so much. We are so thankful that we have the hope of seeing him again someday. We were very blessed to have a good friend volunteer to stay in the nursery all morning with our babies and other three at times. This way, I was able to be in the service and go to the grave site... just popping in every now and then to feed the babies. So nice.

While I type this, Aria is sitting beside me holding and cuddling Heidi. :) Hanna is sleeping, and David is playing with Micah and Nina in their room.

We are getting ready for a New Year's Eve party tonight. We'll be celebrating with some of David's siblings and cousins. Should be fun... and a bit tiring... I'm not much of a late night person. :)

We've been enjoying a beautiful snow fall all day today.

(Aria decided she's done holding Heidi now... time to go play. :D)

I'm learning how to do many things one-handed (while I hold a baby in the other)...

- brushing my teeth
- applying make-up
- filling the washing machine with clothes
- folding laundry (a bit tricky)
- ironing clothes (even more tricky, but do-able)

Micah's favorite thing right now is 'tractors'. He received quite a few for Christmas and really enjoys playing with them. It's so cute when he says 'tractor'. Sounds like he's saying 'cracker'. :)

Micah's favorite person right now is his papa. He absolutely adores David and first thing in the morning he can be heard saying over and over, "papa, papa, papa...".

The most stressful time with the twins is in the late evening, when they both tend to be fussy for several hours... usually from 8pm till midnight. Sigh. That can be exhausting... especially if David is not here and I'm by myself. Yet, once they settle for the night, I sure don't have problems falling asleep! Another stressful time with our kiddos is just going some place! Getting everyone ready, in their winter clothes, and in and out of their car seats takes some extra time and planning, but somehow we manage. :) Yet, overall, David and I both think having twins isn't as difficult as we thought it would be... at least at this stage. We are thoroughly enjoying them... all 5 of our kiddos!

Last week, David went to pick Aria up from kindergarten. I was nursing one baby, and trying to burp the other one at the same time. Nina and Micah were in the next room, screaming and fighting about something, and then, the doorbell starts to ring. My deepest apologies to who ever was at our door, but I just couldn't get down those three flights of stairs to open the door at that point. Please come again though... when David's home. :)

We have 4 big bags full of candy sitting on our window sill. We sure were 'blessed' with chocolate this Christmas season. Perhaps 'overly' blessed! Last night, I dreamed that I went to the Dentist, and all my teeth had cavities in them. Hmmm... is that a sign I'm eating too much candy? Got to get rid of it! Any one want some???

Well, I have a basket of laundry that needs folding and a screaming child that needs tended to (and no, she's not one of the babies :D).

Happy New Year's eve everyone!
