This past week...

This past week, we have been quite busy.

David was involved in doing lots of paper work, as we are in the process of applying for the twins' temporary residency (the three year visa) that we all have. It was important for us to apply as soon as possible, as, if they do not receive it within 3 months, then they will need to leave the country as their present 3 month visa would be expired. (If that sounds confusing... sorry. All this paperwork stuff can be at times!) We are just really hoping that they will receive their 3 year visa before mid-July!

Another thing we were busy with, was removing the wall which separates our kitchen and living room. Ever since moving to this apartment almost 3 years ago, we thought it would be nice to tear that wall down. Our kitchen could get quite crowded with us all sitting around a table, not to mention when we had guests. Now with the addition of 2 little ones, well, we decided it would be nice to have some extra space! So, David, along with his brother Eduard, and 2 friends, spent the day Friday tearing it down. It turned out to be quite a bit more difficult than they had thought it would be, but they finally were able to get it torn down. I had spent the day at a friend's house with the kids, as it would have been too loud for them at our apartment. After we got home late that evening, we just put the kids in their beds, and got to work cleaning up the place. It was SO dirty, SOOOO very dusty! We stayed up till 2 am cleaning everything, as we didn't want the kids to have to run around in that dust. (And it was so much easier to clean with them all in bed!) We are really, really enjoying having the extra space now. I think it's great being able to work in the kitchen and be a part of what is going on in the living room. It's nice too, that the kids have more room to do different projects and activities at the table now. Hopefully someday, we can get a bigger table, but for now, we are just really thankful for the extra space!

Here is our friend, David, helping us tear down that wall!

The next morning, the kids were enjoying the extra space they had to play with play dough at the table! (We hope to re-wallpaper and paint within the next several months too.) The white strip on the floor, was where the wall used to be.

And here is Micah giving his little sister Hanna a kiss. He loves his little sisters so very much and loves to help me take care of them. Right now, his favorite words are "mine" and "self" (meaning, I'll do it myself). Oh, and he also knows what the color 'pink' is! Guess he doesn't have much of a choice, having 4 sisters. Right now, every color is pink. Guess Nina is teaching him well. :)

I'm so glad you could take out that wall in your apartment! I've always wanted to do that in apartments that we've rented, but of course, we couldn't. And now we're moving to an apartment where it's already been done! :-)
