Asking for your thoughts

We sure would appreciate your thoughts concerning getting visas for Hanna and Heidi.

As most of you know, David and I, along with the three older kids, have temporary residency here in T-land (a three year visa). Well, the twins do not. We knew that upon our return in April, we would need to apply for the residency visa for them, so we had all the documents ready. The first thing on our to-do list was to apply for this visa for H and H, which we did right away. As they are only babies and are considered 'with us', we were told that the processing time for their applications goes rather quickly.

Well, it has now been over 2 months since we handed in their applications for this visa, and we still haven't gotten any word as to whether they have received the residency or not. Their present visas, the ones they had in order to enter the country, expire on July 6th. That means, that if they do not receive the residency before then, they will need to leave the country. As I would find it quite difficult traveling with 2 babies by myself, and being apart from David and the other children for at least a month (as we'd have to apply for new visas for the babies), we've decided that we would all leave the country together if the twins would need to. Of course, we would really prefer to NOT have to do this! Not only would it put a big dent in our wallets (so-to-speak), but we really don't want to have to travel again while our kids are still so small.

David has been in communication with the immigration office, asking if they have any way of knowing if the twins' applications will be through by next week. They don't know. As their office is only open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we only have until next Wednesday to know if the twins have received the visas or not. If so, we will breath a BIG sigh of relief and thanks and rejoice that we can stay here. If not, we will be needing to buy tickets, pack-up, and leave the country by July 6th.

We sure would appreciate your thoughts about this. Thank-you!
