Things have been quiet around here lately... but I have a good excuse!
This past weekend, I had the wonderful privilege of attending my little sister's wedding!!!
Madelynn and I left early Wednesday morning for a quick trip (6-7 days all together) to the States. We were so blessed that Oma so willingly stayed with David and the kids. (She was a blessing, I'm telling you! She kept up with the laundry, cleaning, cooking, and caring for the kids. Oh, and I might add that I left her with 3 of our little ones on antibiotics! She's amazing!)
Madelynn was just the way I thought she'd be on the plane... stressful! That girl is just not a good sleeper unless she's home in her bed! So, I juggled an exhausted, antsy, bored little one year old in my lap for over 8 hours. (But hey, it was so much easier than that night flight to T-land when the twins were 3 months old, so I'm not complaining one bit!)
I was in my home town for a total of 4 short days, and with a wedding and lots of family around, they were full and busy! But I enjoyed every. single. minute.
It was wonderful, absolutely wonderful being with family again!
My beautiful sister made the wedding cake! She's incredibly talented!!!
Madelynn just loved my lil' brother.
Her cousin Hailey wasn't too sure about having to share her dad! :)
The happy couple! :)
The family all got together and made a patchwork wall hanging for Ange and Steve.
Friday morning was spent decorating the reception site. It turned out beautiful!
Then the bridal party went out for lunch, and got pedicures!
The bride getting her nails ready! :)
And Saturday, the BIG day, was spent getting ready for the late afternoon wedding.
My lil' sis is just beautiful!!!
Love the shoes, Ange!
The wedding colors: purple and orange.
Overall, little Madelynn did well with the whole trip. She was just so t-i-r-e-d and could not catch-up on sleep! But she was a trooper, and enjoyed getting to know her aunts and uncles and cousins. I really enjoyed having her with me, and having some special one-on-one time with her.
The beautiful cake my sister made.
These two were SO happy and thankful to finally be married!!!
My brother's little one was the adorable flower girl.
My dad with his siblings... my wonderful aunts and uncle!
Me and my Madelynn
One adorably cute "cupcake"!
My time in the States was wonderfully busy. It was so nice being able to see family that I haven't seen for many years... some as long as 12 years!!! A big thank-you to everyone who helped make my trip to my lil' sister's wedding possible. A HUGE thank-you to my amazing husband who urged me to go and stayed behind and took such good care of our older 5 children. I love you, David!
