Yesterday, our big girls started their first day of the 4th and 3rd grade!
They were SO excited to go and see all their friends and teachers again.
(sigh... how I love these girls...)
And today was Micah's BIG day!
His Einschulung!
Micah is now a 1st Grader!
He picked out this certain backpack, because it lights up! (Seriously, what will they think of next?!)
It has batteries, and you can turn the lights on and off. Really nice for when they have to walk to the bus in the dark mornings of winter! And of course, he HAD to have a soccer Tüte!
Micah on the way to school with his support team!
Micah with some of his fellow classmates...
Our next door neighbor girl is also in Micah's class, which is so nice! They know each other pretty well, and it's so convenient when one of them is sick... the other can bring their homework home. Actually, quite a few children from Micah's kindergarten are in his class... so nice that he already has some friends!
Micah was just pretty quiet and contemplative the whole morning.
Micah after his first hour of class! :)
And Micah with his teacher!
I had to get a picture with my sonny boy, although he doesn't look too thrilled. :)
Micah's cousin Linda, also started school.
Unfortunately, they are in parallel classes.
Oma with her two 1st Graders!
And, perhaps the biggest highlight of Micah's day... the opening of the Tüte!
Just thought this was funny, although it made me kinda "groan" inside. I expected that Micah would have some 'homework' (just a page that needed to be colored), as Aria and Nina both had that homework their first day of school. When I asked Micah if he had homework, he said, "nope, nothing". Later on, I was putting something in his backpack, when I noticed the coloring page tucked away inside. I took it to Micah, and asked him if he was supposed to do it for homework. He just said in a very laid back voice, "oh that. My teacher said that we are supposed to color it and bring it back to school tomorrow, but I absolutely don't feel like doing it."
Great. Hopefully that's not how the rest of the school year is going to be!

Just wanted to stop in and say hi. Just caught up on your blog and enjoyed every picture.
Cannot believe Aria will be 10! Much love from here, where her first birthdays were celebrated. <3
