Just wanted to let you all know that we made it to Germany! For the most part, our travels went very smoothly. All our luggage weighed in at 48-49.5 pounds, so we were safe there! Just one of our carry-ons was 15 pounds overweight, but they let it go! Aria was quite upset when Grandma and Grandpa said “good-bye” and left. I felt so bad, yet it’s neat to see how much she loves them. We all love them! (Thanks for taking us to the airport… and for everything, mom and dad!) We got some of our liquids taken away from us at the security check, (note to self: do NOT put cosmetics in your carry-on… even if that is the only place you have room for them!) but besides that, everything went well.
We were about an hour later taking off, as we had to wait our turn for the runway. The girls were getting a little antsy, but giggling instead of crying, so that was good. After we finally took off, Aria fell asleep, and Nina soon followed. I don’t know why, but as soon as we took off until we landed, I felt nauseated. So, I didn’t eat anything while in the air, but thankfully, there was no big “throw-up scene” either!
Three of David’s brothers picked us up and brought us home to David’s parents, where a nice big pot of borstch was waiting for us! Yes, we are all very tired, but relieved that the trip is over! Thanks so much for all of your thoughts! He definitely listened to them! I’ll try to post some pictures soon. I forgot how different Germany looks from our home in the States!
