We are amazed at how quickly Nina is learning to say words. She will repeat things that we say, and use words we didn’t realize she knew! Her favorite German words are: ‘nein’ (no) and ‘auch’ (me too). In English, her favorite words are: ‘blanket’ and ‘down’. Lately, she has also been enjoying taking toys from her older sister, running away with them, and then listening to her scream. She’s quite the little girl! She has a mind of her own and definitely knows what she wants! May we be able to train her character to bring glory to Him!
The past couple of days, Aria has not been feeling good. She has quite the cough and fairly high fevers. Just now when we put her to bed, she had a temperature of 40.4 C/104.7 F. It makes us nervous that it is so high! We gave her some medicine, and she fell asleep right away. We are hoping that the fever will quickly go down! Nina is remaining healthy and strong, for which we are thankful. She just received two immunizations in the past week, so we thought that if anyone would get sick, it would be her. Oh, by the way, we rejoice that both girls are caught up on their immunizations until they are 6 years old! (Of course, unless we get them immunized against lime disease. We have an appointment to do that next week, but if Aria is not feeling well, we won’t do it.) We would appreciate your thoughts for our family’s health! It would be great if we could all be healthy for all the upcoming travels. A couple days ago, we found out that the stomache flu is going around again. But, He is bigger than any germs or bugs! :D
Tuesday evening, David and I went to a friend’s family group to share about what we’ve been doing and what we believe He wants us to do in the future. We were very encouraged from our time together with them. I shared some with them too... in German. I didn’t have anything written down, but just talked from my heart. At times, the word I was looking for could not be found anywhere in my brain! Of course, my grammar was so bad, but I think they were able to understand. We decided not to take on any more speaking engagements from this point on, as we need time to spend with family and get packed! 11 more days!
Today a friend joined us for breakfast. Lena was with us in U-U for a couple of months during the summer of 2005. It was nice seeing her again and sharing with one another. Thanks for coming, Lena!
Yippee! Our приглашение (Letter of Invitation) came today in the mail! We are so thankful! Tommorrow, David is hoping totake the LOIs to a nearby city that has an embassy of the country we are planning on going to, and continue the process for our visas! We have one week left to get them. It’s cutting it close, but if there are no glitches anywhere, it should be no problem to get them in time. (Thanks for thinking about that with us!)
