Hello everyone! It's nice to be able to finally give a little update again! So sorry that it has been a while. Wednesday evening, we noticed that our phone line was completely dead. Apparently, they were doing some digging underground and accidentally cut a phone wire. This resulted in the whole region having no working phones. Perhaps the phones still don't work? We don't know, as we moved to our new apartment yesterday!
We are thankful to finally be at a place where we can unpack our suitcases and get a little more settled. We aren't totally sure how long we will be renting this apartment, but for now, we are planning on a year. After that, we'll see. We are really thankful for this place that He has provided for us. It's nice having an extra room... so David and I can have a bedroom... yippee! Our living room is completely empty, as we don't have any furniture for it yet, but maybe in a couple of months...?
It's great being able to have a balcony! The girls love to play on it, and since it's been so hot here lately (over 40 degrees C/104 degrees F) any laundry I hang out there dries in about an hour! As we don't have any curtains on the windows yet and as we can't open the windows (seems like they are sealed tightly shut for the winter) it gets quite toasty in our place! Thankfully, David was able to find a couple of fans... what a blessing they are!
It was 'funny'. Last night, David went to the kitchen to get a drink of water, and upon returning to our room, he informed me that he was going to go and buy some poison tomorrow. Upon my asking, he told me that as soon as he turned the kitchen light on, he saw quite a few big cockroaches scurrying accross our countertops. That's not really what I wanted to hear, but as long as I don't see them... I'm o.k. :) So hopefully, as I try to keep things as clean as possible, and with the help of some poison, our little visitors will soon be gone!
