Mud puddles...

Last night it rained fairly hard, so this morning the area outside our apartment was covered with mud puddles. After watching a little boy splashing around in one, I put sandals on the girls, and outside we went to play! I so wish I would have had the camera to take a picture of them playing in the puddles. They had so much fun! Aria was running all around in them, jumping up and down, and splashing as much as she could. Nina was laughing and running through them too.
There were quite a few boys playing in the puddles too. As the girls kept splashing, the boys would like at me in disbelief. I think normally the adults scold them for such behavior, and here I was, laughing along with them and the girls. One of the little boys came and asked me if Aria and Nina were boys, and I told him they were girls. He then ran off and whispered something to his friends and they continued to watch the girls with looks of awe. Perhaps it’s not appropriate for girls to splash in puddles? AND their mom letting them… and even laughing? Oh well, we have a LOT to learn!
After the girls got soaked and Aria hurt her big toe, I thought it was time to come inside. I took the above picture of them once we got in, so you can see how wet they got. They then got a nice warm bath, and have been talking about the ‘water outside’ ever since. :D

Our co-workers were previously planning on arriving here today, but due to some trouble finding a flight, they won’t be coming till later this coming week. We sure are ready for them to come and are counting down the days!

Someone had once told me that you could make a good Bar-B-Q sauce using one cup of ketchup and one cup of Coke-Cola. Yesterday I decided to give that a try, as we had a little soda left from David’s birthday (which normally we don’t have), and our fridge was quite bare. I was a little skeptical, but it really wasn’t that bad, and we enjoyed some good Bar-B-Q chicken for lunch. It makes you wonder what all really is in Coke!
