Finger Painting Fun

The other day, I found a very simple recipe for finger paint. I quickly mixed up a batch, and the girls got to work! I took some pictures of them finger painting and just thought I'd post some here, as I think their expressions are quite funny. They loved it!

Here's the recipe in case anyone would like to give it a try. :D

Combine and stir until dissolved:
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup cold water
Stir constantly while cooking over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil, loses whiteness and starts to thicken. Lower heat and continue stirring about 2 minutes until mixture is very thick and smooth. Cool slightly. Divide mixture into separate jars and color with tempera or food coloring. Left-over paint can be stored in a covered jar in the refrigerator for a week.

To Paint: Moisten surface to be painted with a sponge. Deposit a tablespoon of paint on surface and spread the paint with hand. Cleanup requires only a wet sponge or paper towel.
*I didn't have any cornstarch, so I just used 2 tablespoons of flour instead. But I think cornstarch would work even better. I doubled the batch and used food coloring.
