(I wrote this Saturday evening, but am just now getting it posted.)
As I'm typing this, I'm enjoying watching the girls playing and singing "Ring Around the Rosie" and feeling our little baby's feet kicking me in my side. :D David just got back from buying Nina some winter boots. This morning, we woke-up to it snowing, and now there are several inches on the ground. Of course the girls wanted to go out and play in it, but due to the fact that the snow is now too deep for Nina's normal shoes, we weren't able to go out. :( But, now we are already to go out and play in the snow tomorrow! (It's now 5:30 in the evening and already dark.)
When David went to the market yesterday to buy some more lettuce, he had a little conversation with the elderly lady (babushka) selling it. The conversation went something like this...
Babushka: "Oh, you are back."
David: "Yes, I'd like to buy some more lettuce."
Babushka: "Really? What do you do with it?"
David: "Well, we eat it. It makes great salads. Also, it's very healthy for pregnant ladies."
Babushka: "Oh, well don't buy my lettuce. Mine isn't very nice and is getting bad. Why don't you buy from the lady over there? Hers is nicer."
David: "Oh, o.k. Thank-you."
We just thought it was cute that the Babushka didn't know what to do with the lettuce. Perhaps that's why it's so rare here? I'm sure she'd much rather a salad made with cabbage. :D
