The weather

It sure is getting colder here! The leaves on the trees are quickly changing colors and falling to the ground. No, it has not snowed yet, although they have already been calling for snow several times in the weather forecasts. Supposedly, it has already snowed in the mountains. Even though it means that the really cold winter is not that far away, I thoroughly enjoy this time of year!

Today, David decided that he needed to begin working on closing our windows for the winter. Last winter, he just taped them shut really well, like we did while living in U-U. This winter, we know better! Not only do we need to keep the cold out, we also need to keep all the soot out! (They use coal to heat the city, and the soot gets everywhere!) Instead of taping them shut, he is planning on putting silicon all around the edges, and then painting over it. Hopefully this will do the trick. (I guess we'll learn as we go!)
