Christmas Party

On Tuesday evening (the 23rd), we had a Christmas party with some of the students from David’s English class. They do not celebrate Christmas themselves, and so they wanted to see how we celebrate Christmas. Even though they were taking pre-exams all last week, some still came and we had a great time together. While they were learning about Christmas, we were asking questions and learning about how they celebrate the Tuvan New Year (which takes place the end of January). We thoroughly enjoy having people in our home, as we think it’s one of the best ways to get to know others.

The girls helped me make some eggnog for the party. It’s not exactly one of our favorites, but we know it’s a very popular Christmas drink, so we wanted our friends to be able to try it. They were all polite and tried some, even saying they liked it. Yet, I’m not that convinced they did. They would take a sip, and then keep asking, “what did you say is in here”? They could hardly believe that they were drinking eggs! Too funny.

Here's a picture of everyone (minus the photographer :D). Our kids thoroughly enjoy it when the students come over. I think Nina sat on Suzy's lap most of the evening, and Aria had lots of fun with Bolat. The girls were SO sad when it was time for them to leave. Micah on the other hand, was just plain tired, and just wanted to go to sleep!

Some of the students have children, and a couple of them came to the party too. They are super cute, and we love having them around!

This little boy is the friendliest little guy I think I have ever met! Very cute!

This little girl is such a sweetie. She is actually only 4 days younger than Micah, yet they didn't play together very well. When one would start whining, the other would join in. (Perhaps they were communicating more than we think!)
