New Years Day is a really big holiday here, pretty much like our Christmas. We were hoping to go into the center of the city to see some of the decorations on New Year's Eve, but we ended up not doing that. Actually, we didn't do much of anything for New Year's. The main reason is that we were all sick, sick, sick. Actually, Aria and Nina were the worst. All of us had fevers, yet Aria and Nina really had trouble keeping food and liquids inside. We did our best to keep them hydrated and comfortable. (David and I brought in the New Year cleaning up throw-up... quite romantic, actually. :D) Thankfully, on Friday they were doing so much better. We are so thankful.
It's not much fun being sick...

We were delighted when we received a Christmas package from Oma and Opa in the mail on Monday. The kids are thoroughly enjoying their new toys... especially now that they feel better. Vielen Dank Oma und Opa!

We haven’t had language sessions the past few weeks. Our helpers were busy studying for and doing their pre-exam tests, and now it is the holidays. My helper went to her home in the village for several days. Hopefully next week we can get some sessions in after she returns to the city. Yet, David and I are trying to use this time to review what we have been already taught. And oh my, do we need to review! Will we ever learn this language?!?!?!
Micah is crawling everywhere now, and boy, is he ever proud of himself! Now that he can move around more freely, he seems a lot more content… which is nice. Yet, he gets into everything!!! Somehow, I forgot how much work the crawling stage can be!

We are super excited, because as of Monday, we now have an office for our organization again! We had an office about a year ago, but ran into some difficulties with our landlord, and then he wanted to sell the place. So we have been without an office for over half a year now. We were using our co-workers place as an office in their absence, but they are soon returning (yeah! :D), and so we needed to find something else. Through a fellow teacher at the university where David has his English class, we found another apartment to rent for our office. We are so thankful, as we found it at the perfect time. Not only that, it is in a really good location, and it is just perfect for an office... and really clean! We are so encouraged to see how he has provided for us in this way. (Hope you like it David and Erin... we think you will!)
Here are just a few pictures...
The room which we will probably use as our bookkeeper/secretary's office.
