Yesterday, David went with our co-worker David, and two of his friends that came to visit, to a yurt out in the country. They were planning on spending the day and night with a Tuvan couple, as well as experiencing the cultural way of killing, preparing, and eating a sheep. I look forward to his return today and hearing about the time that they had. Hopefully he is taking some pictures. I sent the camera along with him, but he often forgets to take pictures. :) The kids keep asking where papa is, and our conversations go something like this...
Aria: Mommy, where's papa?
Me: Papa is with some friends staying in a big tent-like house, and eating sheep.
Aria: Why does he want to eat sheep?
Me: Well, the people here really like to eat sheep, so he wants to try it.
Aria: Why do they like to eat sheep?
Me: Well, they think it tastes yummy.
Aria: Are sheep meat?
Me: Yes, sheep have meat.
Nina: I wouldn't eat a sheep. I would just hug and hug it!
Yesterday was Children's Day here in R-land. There were lots of special activities going on for children in the center of the city, but I didn't feel adventerous enough yesterday to take the kids there by myself. I tried to do a few things special, though not much. I took some pictures on my phone, and will try to post them later... hopefully along with some sheep pictures! :)
