Not the best picture, as the sun was so bright, the kids couldn't help but squint... but here they are playing with their friend, Misha. He actually doesn't live in our building, but stays here during the days with his grandparents while his parents are at work. He especially enjoys playing with Aria, and those two get along very well.
The kids just recently made a new friend, named Sending. She is such a sweetheart! She is 10 years old, but just loves playing with the girls and Micah. And she is so good with them! If only she was a little older, we'd ask her to babysit them sometimes! The girls just love her. Whenever she sees us outside, she'll yell down from her 7th floor apartment window, and will soon be outside to play with us. Our hearts have a very special place for this girl!
The other day, David came home with a BUNCH of wild blueberries and red raspberries which he had found at the market. Yummy! The raspberries are super sweet... sooo good, but the blueberries are a little on the 'bitter' side. Still, they taste great (especially in pancakes)! Well, I so badly wanted to make a blueberry pie. I really enjoy making pies, but haven't really made any since getting married because my husband doesn't really like them, and I don't need to be eating them all by myself! But, I just HAD to make a blueberry pie... despite the fact that I don't have a pie plate. So, instead, I used some soup bowls which we have and made three small pies. Kinda silly, but it worked. (I just filled the crusts too full and the filling ran out everywhere.) It just made me smile to make a blueberry pie. Brought back so many happy childhood memories... :)

Those pies look delicious, Christy! So glad for little blessings like those that can brighten the day! And, as always, your kids are adorable!
How sweet! I loved the pics of your kids. :) You have a beautiful family. I was home this summer in Texas, and picked blackberries from my Grandma's bushes. We made pie after pie - there were 3 of us to eat it. And, we took several to potlucks, etc. I LOVE berry pie, so I'm so happy you were able to make one. It's fun to have a touch of home away from home sometimes.
I'm south of the border once again. And, getting ready to move up into the mountains to live with an indigenous people group. They have blackberry bushes in the area! Yay!
It'll be a few months until we have houses built and get settled, so a lot of transitions right now.
Hope things are going well for you. Thinking of you all.
Rachel
