While organizing our documents last evening, David thought it was pretty cool how many passports our family now possesses. So he took a picture of them. Six American and six German.
On Thursday, oh dreadful day, we took all 5 kids to their doctor. They all needed to get blood drawn for an AIDS test, which we need the results for in order to apply for the 5 year visa in R-land. Let's just say, that was quite tramatic... especially for Aria and Nina, as they know more what is going on. The blood tests plus some immunizations that needed to be given brought the amount of needles used on our kids that day to a grand total of '9'. Yuck. Sooooo very glad that is over with!!!
After having our kids spend Thursday morning at the doctors getting pricked left and right, we kind of spoiled them the rest of the day. (We felt so bad for them!) We let them watch a few extra videos on the computer, and I made them one of their favorite meals... tacos!
After receiving 2 immunizations, Micah is pretty sick now with high fevers. :( Thankfully, he's now all caught up with them and doesn't need any more! I still don't know how I feel about the whole immunization debate... are they good or not so good? But being here in Germany, well, we are pretty much required to have our kids immunized. Still... not fun.
The twins are handling their first immunizations wonderfully. So far, no fevers. Thursday evening, they just wanted to sleep, and slept the whole night, waking only to eat. David and I joked that maybe they should get a shot once a day. :) Just kidding.
This morning at breakfast, Aria looked at me and thoughtfully asked, "Mommy, which Prince will I marry?"
Every day, all day, the kids constantly ask, "mommy, is this Hanna or Heidi?"
Micah: "Is this Hanna"?
Me: "No, Micah. This is Heidi."
Micah: "Oh, Hanna."
(Micah calls both babies 'Hanna'. I think it's because we brought Hanna home from the hospital first, and he was used to the baby being called 'Hanna'. As far as he knows, he has two little sisters name 'Hanna'. :D)

Actually I was wondering about that very thing earlier today. How do you tell them apart? I understand there is still a significant weight difference between them, but when Heidi catches up, how will you tell? Do they have any distinguishing marks?
Just curious: how did you answer Aria's query?
Glad the AIDS tests are all behind you. When you are granted permanent residency, you can go a whole 5 years between tests!
So excited to hear that you're coming to the states! How long will you be around? I'm sure it will be so much fun to be with your family again!
Hey Shawna, :) Actually, to David and I, the twins look very different. I often think, perhaps they aren't identical! Perhaps you need to see them in person to be able to tell, but Heidi's facial features just seem to be a bit more delicate (is that the word?) than Hanna's. Also Hanna's forehead seems to be a bit more rounded, where as Heidi's is a little more straight. Funny. Concerning Aria's query, I told her that I had no idea, only He knew! I then told her that when I was her age, I didn't know who my prince (her papa) would be... I didn't even know him then. I think that was hard for her to imagine. :)
Hey Megan! We are planning on being in the States for 6 weeks, from Feb. 16th - March 29th. I'm sure those weeks will fly by!
