Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Even though this greeting is a day late, we do hope that you all had a wonderful time celebrating this special time with family and friends. We had a very nice Christmas, together as a family and with friends. Here is just a bit about our Christmas.

Christmas eve

While I was busy baking some things for our Christmas breakfast and supper...

the older three made some birthday cards for J...

while the younger two picked out which Christmas CD we should listen to next.

We ate soft tacos by candlelight on Christmas eve.
(The kids really were happy, they just don't look it. Maybe it's because this was the last photo of 10? times of trying to get a decent picture?!?)

After supper, we tried to get a picture of our little ones by the Christmas tree. It's not the best, but the only one we got before the babies got tired of it and crawled off. :)

Just thought it would be fun to show last year's Christmas eve photo of the kids. It's amazing to me how much kids can grow and change in just one year!

After talking about the Christmas story and having a nice time together, we had some pudding cheesecake and sang "Happy Birthday" to J.

Instead of having stockings, each of our children puts a plate, with his/her name on it, underneath the tree before going to bed on Christmas eve. Then, while the kids sleep, David and I fill their plates with little treats and toys. (This is something David did as a child, and loved it!)

Christmas Day

Christmas morning, Heidi was pretty quick at discovering where the chocolate was! :)

After opening their presents, which consisted of pink princess dresses and ponies for the older girls, an airplane and remote control car for Micah, and some 'noisy' toys for the twins, we spent some time Skyping with my family while our breakfast was in the oven.

In the afternoon, while David stayed home with our napping younger three, Aria, Nina and I went to a neighbor friend's birthday party. (Her birthday was actually the 23rd, but they celebrated on Christmas... which is not a holiday here.) We had a very nice time celebrating Vika's birthday with her.

David did some studying in the afternoon, while keeping an eye on the twins. :)

In the evening, our friends David & Erin and kids came over for a Christmas meal.
We had a little birthday party for Nina as well.
Here, our little princess is posing with her pink castle cake.

Then, even though it was late and the kids were exhausted from their exciting day, we let them stay up and we spent some time Skyping with David's family. In this photo, Nina was all smiles because everyone was singing "Happy Birthday" to her.

Here's a video of the older three saying their December memory work on Christmas eve. Just thought the grandparents might like to see them and all their "jitteriness"!

And here are the twins, Christmas eve morning, dancing to Drummer Boy.
