Upcoming Changes

We know that many of you, our family and friends, are already aware of the upcoming changes which will be taking place in our lives. Yet for those of you who have not yet heard, we’d like to share our upcoming future plans with you now. We love you all and want to make you aware of what has been, is, and will be taking place in this, our journey, called life.

For several years now, we have been sensing the real need for good platforms. A good platform is very important for the type of work which we are involved in, and presently, we do not have one here. This has been a big concern for David for quite some time. (I know that some of you may be asking yourself, “what is a platform”? In short, it is basically the set-up of a business, organization, etc. that would enable one to continue on with the work.)

When we realized that we were being blessed with twins, the thought was made known to us, that perhaps we were being led in a different direction. Perhaps we were to play a part in developing platforms. We quickly dismissed that thought as we wanted to be here! Yet, while in the west last year (for the twins’ birth), we shared this thought with a few from both of our family groups. It was decided that we would return to T-land as planned, and then spend the next year really seeking and asking for further direction as to what we were to do.

As we returned here last April, it was very difficult for us as we thought about the future, not knowing which direction we were to go. Yet, over the past several months, David and I both experienced different ways in which our hearts were being prepared for the possibility of a change. I, especially, was no longer ‘kicking and screaming’ at the possibility of returning to the west, but actually had a peace about it. (Which, really, is a huge thing for me!) As we continued to keep this in our thoughts, we realized that baby #6 is now on the way. For many different reasons, the realization that our young family would once again be expanding, made it clear to us that yes, at this time we are to return to the west.

So, where do we go from here? Well, at this point, we are now in the process of finalizing up things here. That includes trying to sell our apartment and vehicle. This is not something which is easy to do, especially during the cold winter months, so we would appreciate your thoughts for this. (Some of you may be wondering if we are sad to leave our apartment after just having renovated it. Well, all along we knew that there was a possibility that we would be leaving. So, we made the apartment the way we liked it, also knowing that any renovations would help it to sell later on, if we were going to sell it. So, no, we aren’t ‘sad’ about it. But rather thankful that we did renovate it, as it needed it!)

Originally, we were planning on returning to Germany by mid-March 2011. We chose this date as this will be the last possible time which I, Christy, will be able to fly due to our pregnancy, and we thought that we would need this time to finalize things here. Yet, just recently we have had several potential buyers really interested in our apartment. So, things may go quicker than we had previously anticipated. We plan on returning to Germany as soon as our apartment is sold and we are all packed, etc. We then plan on having our baby sometime in May, and then David hopes to begin studying in preparation for platform development in the fall.

If any of you have questions, comments, etc. please, by all means feel free to contact us! (You can contact us through a friend of ours. Her e-mail address is at the top, right hand side of our blog.)

Thank-you so much for all of your thoughts for us during this time. It is definitely not easy for us. (You could say this is one of the most difficult things we have ever needed to do!) Yes, the future has lots of unanswered questions for us. In all honesty, thinking about returning to the west really scares us! We are used to this life here and enjoy it. But we know that we are not alone in all of this. For that, we are so very thankful!

And the work here will continue to go on! We are so thankful for our friends who have hearts for this place and a desire to bring the people hope! Please, please continue to keep T-land in your thoughts and hearts. We definitely will.
