Yes, we are still here. Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. I don't like to be on the computer while the children are awake, and when the older 5 are sleeping... well, I enjoy cuddling with the baby. Many times I've wanted to post something, but then decided that it was more important to spend time with my hubby, cuddle the baby, get the ironing done, or sleep! All that to say, I will do my best to keep this blog up-to-date. I guess I just needed a bit of a break.
Our little baby is doing well... such a sweetheart! Last week, our Madelynn came down with a breast infection. (I know that it sounds weird... but she did!) Poor little girl. The doctor wanted us to give her antibiotics, as the infection was pretty bad. Only thing was, those antibiotics made little Madelynn so sick! It was very difficult for her to keep the antibiotics down, and when she was able to, she was so miserably sick and wasn't able to nurse. After a day of that, I talked with the doctor and decided not to give her any more antibiotics. (I hated giving them to her!) We just really prayed, asking Him to take the infection away, and I continued to put some good German "quark" (really thick yogurt) on her. (It's supposed to help draw out the infection.) We rejoice that Madelynn seems to be doing so much better this week! Praise Him!
We continue to be on the search for a house/apartment to rent. If there's one thing we've learned through all of this, it's that lots of other people here in this city want to rent places too! My goodness. Houses for rent here go so fast! David and I have looked at quite a few houses, and some were even very promising. But for some reason or another, they have all fallen through. While on one hand it is disappointing, on the other hand, we see it as a way in which He is directing us. For instance, last evening we went to look at a very nice house. David and I had driven by it the day before, and decided that if we both liked it inside, we'd tell the lady right away that we wanted to rent it. (Before someone else did.) Well, the owner had just shown us the kitchen and living room when a man, who had looked at the house earlier that day, knocked on the front door. He then told her (the owner) that he wanted the place. So, we said "good-bye" and left before we were even able to look at the whole house. Obviously, that was not the place for us. So, we keep looking, trusting He will provide the right place in His timing.
We are all really looking forward to the upcoming visit from my sister and her family in less than a week and a half now! Yeah!
Well, the kiddos are awake so I need to go. Just wanted to "drop in" and say "hello"! Thanks for checking in on us.

Christy - I am so glad that you took a little break from blogging. I have been doing that lately too - these first few months with new baby go so fast and are so precious. . . We won't regret any moments that we invested in them!! Will be lifting up your sweet baby's infection. If you take lots of C and garlic baby bennifits too with fighting off infection! Love you - Your sister, Betsie
