Our Bathing Room

Here is just a picture of our bathing room (and our cuties who really like to 'get bubbles'). (We have a separate room for the toilet, which is very common here. We actually like it that way! But, our toilet room is my least favorite place to be, as it smells very strongly like smoke. The neighbors must smoke, and as the vent is in our toilet room, it is very smokey!) Actually, our bathing room is my favorite place in the apartment. The owners have fixed it up quite nicely. To the bottom right of the picture, you can see part of a washing machine. No, it's not ours, it belongs to the apartment. But let me tell you, I am extremely thankful for it! Once our clothes are washed, we hang them above the bathtub to dry (that's why there are clothes hanging above the girls in the picture). They actually dry fairly fast, as this room stays quite warm.

In the picture, the girls were taking one of their last baths for several weeks. (Well, I guess that's a joke, but at least their last bath with lots of water!) This morning, the city turned off all the hot water for two weeks, so we will be taking baths in puddles for a little while. (They turned off the hot water in order to do repairs on the water heating system.)

This past week, we have come to realize that we are not the only ones who live in this apartment. It is also home to some cockroaches and one "cute" little mouse. Honestly though, I'm not surprised, but I take those pests any day over bed bugs, so I am NOT complaining! I told Aria that we have a mouse in our apartment, and she was just so excited! She talks about it all the time, and goes throughout the place saying, "come mousey, mousey come". I think she thinks it looks like Mickey Mouse or some other cute cartoon character. Oh well, I much rather her think it exciting than be afraid of it. She even wants to leave food on the floor for it, something which I'm not too thrilled about. :)

I'll try to post more pictures of our apartment later on! Thanks for checking in on us. We are doing well and getting settled in!
