What to do???

First of all, thank-you so much for the encouraging e-mails that several of you sent our way! (I'd sure like to reply to them... and hope to in the future, but time doesn't allow that right now.) Also, thank-you to the many of you who have been keeping us in your thoughts, especially the last couple of days. It means so much to us!

This morning we took the girls to David's mom and then took Micah to the hospital to be checked by one of the head doctors. Well, after waiting all morning to be seen, we were told that neither of the doctors were able to see Micah, as they were presently in the operating room. So, they sent us to another doctor, who we later found out was THE head doctor... he was even over the doctors that we had waited all morning to see!

He checked Micah, and told us that the best thing for him would be to be fitted with a cast for 6 weeks. Yet, since we were hoping to leave for Russia in less than two weeks, he thought it would be o.k. for him to just wear a brace. He was going to call our orthopedic specialist today and talk things over with him. Then tomorrow, we have another appointment with the orthopedic specialist to try and come to some kind of conclusion.

Needless to say, this all has us a bit confused. Of course, we want what is best for Micah, and if that would be a cast, then that is what we want. Yet, if his hips can be corrected by wearing a brace, and that means we could return to Russia when planned, then perhaps that is what we should choose? We just don't know. There are lots of things that play into this decision for us, and so this is very heavy on our hearts right now. What are we supposed to do??? We definitely need His wisdom and guidance in all of this! He alone knows what is best. Hopefully we will know a little better about what to do after our appointment with the specialist tomorrow... hopefully...

Here is a picture of our sweet Micah in his brace! I had just given him a bath and put him in his pajamas. Sorry he is dressed in white, as that makes it a little more difficult to see the brace. (But, I haven't been home lately to do laundry, and all his darker clothes were in the washer!) Gotta love the smiley face... it makes me smile. :D Micah seems to be used to wearing it now, at least for the most part. He has really been doing so well as he has been adjusting to this brace and as we have been taking him from doctor to doctor. We are so thankful for this! What a sweetie!
